Vivo Bringing Origin OS Features to India – New UI Update Coming Soon!
Hey Friends, 2025 has changed the game of smartphone New UI a lot! First we launched Samsung’s One UI 7 with its cool customizations, then Google surprised everyone by launching Material You 3 Expressive for Pixel phones.
And Apple? It created a stir on the internet with its Liquid Glass design! But the year is not over yet and another big surprise is about to come. Yes, we are talking about Vivo, which is going to give a new look to its FunTouch OS.
According to rumors, Vivo is bringing the awesome features of its Origin OS along with FunTouch OS to India. So come on, sit down and listen to what fun it is!
The cameras and hardware of Vivo phones are amazing anyway, but FunTouch OS was always felt to be a little lacking.
And it seems Vivo has finally listened! Now they are not saying that the full Origin OS is coming, but a new version of FunTouch OS, maybe with a rebranded name, is going to be launched with the best features of Origin OS. If this turns out to be true, then Vivo’s software game will also become top-notch.
FunTouch OS vs Origin OS: What’s the Difference?
So friends, if you are wondering what makes Origin OS so special, let me give you a quick tour. I have tried both UIs, and here are some key differences that I noticed:
1. Home Screen: Minimal vs Fully Loaded
The home screen of FunTouch OS is clean and minimal – simple icons, basic layout. But Origin OS? Absolute next level! It lets you stack widgets, just like in iPhone or Samsung phones.
And it’s also cool that you can put widgets in folders as well – I haven’t seen this feature in any other Android skin. Plus, Origin OS comes with a mood cube feature that lets you change wallpaper effects, icon sizes, and tile shapes (rounded or boxy).
There is also an option to change wallpapers based on time or weather. All this in FunTouch OS? Absolutely not!
2. Notifications and Control Center
In Origin OS, swipe down from the left to get notifications and from the right to get control center. I personally like this separate setup a lot because I don’t have to tap repeatedly to change dark mode or media output.
FunTouch OS mixes both of these in one place, which feels a bit old-school. Origin OS has a choice – you can switch back to the old style if you want it. FunTouch has no choice.
3. Lock Screen and AOD
Origin OS’s lock screen customization is awesome. You get two styles, and you can add widget support like the iPhone.
Always-on Display (AOD) is also much better – full-screen AOD that can show your lock screen wallpaper, or customize it with tons of clock styles. FunTouch OS doesn’t have all these options yet, which is a bit lacking.
4. Animations: Father of Smoothness
The animations of Origin OS are absolutely buttery smooth – be it opening an app, closing it, or unlocking the phone, everything is fun in a different way.
FunTouch OS has improved the animations in the last few updates, but the smoothness is still not at the level of Origin OS.
And one more thing – you can customize the fingerprint icon in Origin OS, and it changes along with the lock screen style. Charging animations are also really fun!
5. Live Activities and Smart Features
Origin OS has a killer feature – Origin Notifications, which is like the Live Activities of iPhone. It works on the camera notch, lock screen, home screen, and even while gaming.
For example, you’re playing a game and you won’t miss any important notifications. Another cool feature is smart adaptation screen resolution – it changes the resolution based on the content (1080p for FHD, UHD for high-res), which can save battery.
And yes, there is also a game countdown feature which leaves the phone free while waiting in the lobby, so that you can land straight in the game when the match starts.
When will all this come to India?
Now the question is when will all these features come to India? According to reports, Vivo X300 series and iQOO 15, which will be launched in Q4 2025, will come with this revamped FunTouch OS.
It is not yet clear whether this will be a full rebrand or only the features of Origin OS will be integrated. But it is sure that Vivo is taking its software game seriously.
What is exciting?
It seems that this move can be a game-changer for Vivo. Vivo already gives competition to everyone in hardware and cameras, and if it brings the power of Origin OS in software as well, then it will be a different matter altogether!
